Get Ready for Opening Work Party

Saturday March 25th & Sunday 26th, 2017
Friday March 31st & Saturday April 1st, 2017

Winter is beginning to break and we need to start getting ready for spring.  We are planning a "Getting Ready for Opening" volunteer work party for Saturday March 25th and Sunday March 26th at the museum.

We have a list of things we would like to accomplish to get the museum ready to open to the public on April 1st. The top priority is to get the Gift Shop ready to serve the visitors to the museum.

Some of the items we plan to work on include:

  • Pulling most of the furniture and fixtures from the Gift Shop to allow for deep cleaning, and repainting, then we will be rearranging the layout.
  • Clean up the Diesel Shop.
  • Organize and work on the Storage Container.

The party CONTINUES!

Thank you to everyone who pitched in and helped.
The first weekend was very successful, and now the party continues...

  • Friday 3/31/2017 -  9am -  If the new Point of Sale system is not up and running, use the back up that Eugene made of the old system and get it working to make sure that the store is ready for Saturday. Get gift shop back in order - this includes moving the shelving and reorganizing some items and also to go through the inventory on the shelves to see what has been damaged.
  • Saturday 4/1/2017 - 8am - make sure everything is ready for opening.

Dress like you would for doing heavy duty house cleaning.  We will have things to do for everyone who can join us.  Remember, many hands make light work.  Come meet other members of the society and experience the satisfaction of being an active part of the museum.

If you can, make a two-day event out of it and sleep in our sleeper!  Reservations required.  Members can make sleeper reservations by using our online tool.
