EDENWOLD SLEEPER

Among the many benefits FRRS members have, is the Edenwold Sleeper. The car is an Ex Via Rail 4-8-4 Pullman Standard Sleeper car #6112. In order to use the car, you must call the museum to make a reservation.

Reservations are on a first come first served basis. Additionally, you must observe the following rules:

1 – No smoking anywhere in the car.

2 – Restrooms are in the shower car. Do not use any restroom or sink facility in the car. This is because the car's internal plumbing is not hooked up.

3 – Bring your own bed linens / sleeping bags.

4 – Clean your compartment / room and common areas of the car before you leave. Cleaning supplies and a vacuum are located in the closet immediately adjacent to compartment #5.

5 – Leave your compartment / room cleaner than you found it.

6 – Do not alter the thermostat. Do not run the heater / AC during the day when no one is in the car.

7 – Stick to your assigned compartment / room. Do not change compartments / rooms because you see another looks empty. That person just may not have arrived yet. You may however check with the Museum Manager for availabilty to change rooms if necessary.

8 – Dispose of all trash in receptacles outside the car.

9 – Do not plug heaters or other high current draw devices into the room plugs. These were intended for shavers and low draw devices. The wiring cannot handle it. The grounded hallway plugs are for this use.

10 – Please report any items that may need to be repaired/replaced (light bulbs etc).

To reserve space in the Edenwold, please call the museum gift shop at 530.832.4131 and confirm availability. If available your name will go into the reservation book in the gift shop.  You should book early, especially for special events.
